Thanks to Midtownlunch.com we finally find an irresistible Cuban / Dominican restaurant in the mid-town Time Square district. This hole in the wall cafeteria fit every aspect our ideal Cheap Ass eatery - heavy on taste and light on your wallet.
Margon’s version of Cuban Sandwich ($5.00) is a supa tasty hot pressed sandwich with pork, cheese, mayo, mustard, pickles and salami. The cheese melted perfectly and hold the juicy pork and salami together. Yummastatic!

The elegantly seasoned Octopus Salad ($6.00) is the best refreshing thing we have eaten for a while. Perfect for the NYC suffocated humid summer weather. The ingredients are very rich and fresh- Octopus, Onions, Tomato, Olives, Lime Juice and Cilantro all magically express their identities simultaneously in your mouth. OMFG!
Margon also have Beef Stews, Roast Chicken, Pork Chop and other daily specials like Breast Of Lamb, Chicharron De Pollo, Red Snapper, Ox Tail Stew, Pot Roast, Tripe/ Pig Feet and Chicken Fricase. All of these heavenly goodies come with rice and beans (or salad with fried plantains) and cost around $7.50 to $8.50. Have anybody try those before? How does that taste?
Tips:
1.There are 3 different lines for food- Sandwiches, Daily Specials and others. Make sure you are in the right line.
2.Margon is always packed with locals at the lunch time so prepare to take it to go (extra $0.25)
3.It really sucks that they DO NOT OPEN FOR DINNER. Their business hours: M-F 6am to 4:45pm and 7am to 2:30pm on Sat.
